A FAMILY TRADITION

 

In 1982, Ramiro Deleon Roel decided to take his cherished family tortilla recipe, and turn it into a business. With just a single three-row machine and the help of his spouse, he began producing 20-25 cases of tortillas everyday, and delivering them himself to customers in the area.

Through hard work and perseverance the business grew, and soon he was able to hire a driver and spread his business into Dallas, Houston, and Shreveport. What started as Ramiro’s dream had become a thriving business, hiring more employees and adding new recipes for new products.

Today, La Fama Foods has grown to create many delicious products including corn tortillas in several sizes, colors and thickness, flour tortillas in different sizes and thickness, wraps, chips, and masa. And we’ve come along way since the early days of Ramiro delivering his tortillas in his own truck each morning. La Fama Foods now uses all major food distributors to ship products across the country and co-packs for some of the largest companies in the United States.

THROUGH ALL OF OUR GROWTH, OUR FAMILY-FOCUSED APPROACH HAS REMAINED THE SAME.

Ramiro has handed down his recipes and the business to the next generation of Roels, who run the business and work daily to maintain the family tradition of hard work and excellence.
